Coach Mike Goss is a graduate of the University of Montevallo, Alabama; he received a Master’s degree from Georgia State University. Completing Level I USATF coaches education, he continued with Level II in jumps, throws, and combined events.
Coach Goss worked 7 years as a collegiate jumps coach. He coached high school and youth track for 8 years before joining the Kennesaw State University coaching staff. Several athletes reached NCAA region qualifications; high jumper, Jerome McKenzie competed in two NCAA championship events. A number of his former athletes achieved national ranking in USATF Junior Olympic competition. In 2012, four of his jumpers qualified for the junior college national championships.
Goss’s philosophy is to blend the art and science of human performance into the drama of competition and personal goals. Coach Goss was 2011 “Coach of the Year USATF-GA”. He is a strong proponent of coaches education and is an active member and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Currently, Goss is working with club, high school, and post collegiate athletes.
