You’re Fired Friday (Vol. 2)

Posted by Latif Thomas

It’s a New Year and I can’t think of a better time to release another installment of me indiscriminately firing people on the Interwebs, especially since coaches seemed to enjoy the first version.

The theme of today’s episode:

Professionalism, Status and the Ego

If you start getting worked up, be sure to look over my left shoulder. Then post your comments below. – LT

Keep up the good work. I was inspired by you and Duane Carlyle. That’s why I purchased you guys material. I’m actually hosting my first SAQ camp on Sunday and a lot of your coaching cues will be in the curriculum. “Stepover-drive down”

    Peace & Blessings,

      Hi DeShawn

Thank you for the kind words. Duane is an excellent coach. I hope your SAQ camp went well and ‘step over drive down’ clicked with your athletes! -LT

My first glance was over your right shoulder (my left) at the door. I thought you were insinuating that if someone doesn’t like what’s being said, LEAVE through the door. LOL
Then I saw the “Calm Down” over the other shoulder.

Ha! When I wrote that I wasn’t sure if I should say ‘my left’ or ‘the left’ or ‘your left’ so don’t feel bad. I had to stop and think about it myself! – LT

Latif, very funny and I’m somewhat sad to say, somewhat accurate about the lack of professionalism in the coaching ranks. btw, I’ll be sending that jar of sunshine and clam to you…keep looking for it in the mail! as long as I don’t have to declare it as hazardous material when I go to the post office….lol also the misspelled word is goes well with your beach setting.

      Hi Jack

It is disappointing that some coaches can’t practice what they (supposedly) preach. But there are also a large number of excellent coaches out there and that is the good news. I’ll keep an eye out for the jar of sunshine. Just tell them it’s not hazardous, they won’t even check! In the meantime I’ll be down by the beach!
